We planned a weekend trip to the Grand Canyon the second week on October but our lovely government shut down prevented that. We held out as long as possible thinking it would open back up in time but it didn't so we planned a last minute trip to San Diego. Tim's aunt kindly offered for us to use a time share right next to Legoland (literally within walking distance). So we spend one day at Legoland, one day at the Zoo and part of a day at the beach (October was "kids are free" at most San Diego attractions). It was dreamy. The pace was great, just went with the flow. It's been a while since we had a little family vacation like that.
Legoland was great for a younger crowd. The favorites were driving the cars/boat and the musical instuments. Lyssie loved playing in duplo playground. T and I enjoyed the miniatures.
The favorites at the zoo were the polar bear, the elephants (we got there right when they got their lunch so we enjoyed ours at the same time and spent a while observing), and the pandas.
Love, love this beautiful temple. Could the sky be any bluer?
I love the ocean so fun taking candid shots for a while, while they played and explored.
