Meeting Adam and Eve

Our Bishop and his wife are in fact Adam and Eve from the temple movie (the dark haired ones). It was kind of crazy...I guess I just always figured they lived in Utah somewhere. So every Sunday we can be reminded to attend the temple. We had a nice chat with Merrily (not sure on the spelling) or Eve today after church. She recognized our last name as she is from Swan Valley a fellow Idahoan and neighbor. Professionally she is a model, her husband was too but now he is a fashion photographer. This was our second celebrity sighting in two days. We were sitting on a park bench yesterday enjoying some shakes from the Shake Shack with our friends Monica and Mathew(who are also in the MBA program and here on internships) and Monica points to Bruce Willis as he walks not three feet in front of us. We are definitely not in Kansas anymore!

This week Letty earned her reward and got to go on the Ferris Wheel inside of Toys R Us (yes, it is inside the store). She loved it! I also took the girls to a Marionette show in Central Park. I have never seen a marionette show so it was a good time. The length of the show was just about right for Letty but way too long for Gracie. We have had lots of subway fun going to and fro. NYC subways are horrible for kids and strollers, they seriously need to do some updating. Yesterday we enjoyed visiting Manhattan's Children's Museum and we briefly went into the Natural History Museum (all of which are complimentary as part of American Express employment).

We also enjoyed having T's sister J and her boyfriend M join us on Wednesday. J went home and M continued his stay until Sunday. It was fun having company and hopefully they felt the same.

So while we were on the subway I was parked by another stroller. After we got off Letty says "mom Gracie is getting into the cookies" "what cookies? I say" I look down and see Gracie with this... little Klepto!

CA trip

We had a very fun trip to California to visit my family.


Eating after we went to Monterey Bay Aquarium. Unfortunately our camera died after this so we didn't get many pictures of the ocean. We pulled out the video camera and took a shot or two and then it died. Then I got out my cell phone and captured Gracie with T and oddly enough it died as well. So we obviously didn't plan that well but it was a beautiful day at the ocean.

City Rat

We're in NYC! Colette watched "Enchanted" again in preparation. T-man loves the scene where the rats, flees, cockroaches and pigeons all gather to clean up the apartment. The scene hit home today as we ventured out today for our big trip to Target in the Bronx. On our way to the subway this lady stops right in front of me. We are face to face and she is a bit frantic about something. I couldn't understand her very well so T-man and I were a little confused about why this lady had accosted us. We look towards where she is pointing and there you have it!! a scraggly, ill-looking Rat! crossing the sidewalk. I didn't get a picture of it, major regret. Letty kept wanting to go back and look at the "sick" rat. What a opening day sighting!

The after dinner trip to riverside park, and found a tot playground. We walked about 4 blocks north to show Letty where Jazelle sings out to the animals from the apartment. (Enchanted)

We have plenty of space in our place. They also left everything open (drawers, closets) so we have enjoyed emptiness. We have been impressed for a NYC place that we don't feel squished. So this is an invitation to come and see us.
