Travels

We have loved all of the traveling we've done lately but are now enjoying being home after our three week absence. Although coming home means chores, tasks, to do, etc... We started off our travels driving to CA to visit my family. We stayed with my sister for four days and then T-Man and I flew to NJ to secure housing while the kids stayed with Aunt S and Grandma. After our whirlwind three day trip we luckily came home with a place to live in NJ (great schools, great neighborhood, long commute) I guess there is a plus and minus to everything. We then ventured down to Grandma and Grandpa's house for another week. While there we took a little camping trip to a spot I went a lot growing up. It was fun to take my girls fishing and on some nature walks. Next was to drive home to UT late Tuesday night. We left mid-day Wednesday with T's parents and sister to Lake Powell for another 6 days. We had tons of fun visiting with so much family and enjoyed exciting activities.

Snow in June? It's actually salt. We stopped off at the salt flats on the way to CA. It was very chilly out there.

sticker fun in the car.

Bird watching perhaps

Hoping for the big one!

I got lucky and pulled out 4. I was the envy of the campground since the water was so high the fishing wasn't good, most people got no more than one. It was nice to be a celebrity for a while.

The girls thought Rose's camper was awesome!

My mom was in charge of the kids at their ward temple day so Letty got to go with Grandma and Uncle Daryl by herself up to Oakland for half a day. She loved it!Cousin fun

Afternoon veggingGracie and Lou though they were pretty big stuff riding in the boat.T enjoying knee boardingAfter some tears from fear Letty tried kneed boarding which consisted of her holding on while the boat went very slow and Tim hanging on the back. She enjoyed it once she got going, we were very proud of her for trying it. Some Anasazi ruins we hiked to. It is called "Defiance House". Letty is looking up from a chimney we think. They were pretty cool little houses built of the side of a mountain.

Letty's doings

I am a bit behind in my posting so I'll start here. We enjoyed Letty's dance recital last month. She was an emerald in the Wizard of Oz. I love little dance recitals.

We love you Miss Amber! There is no one else like you, we'll miss you.

We also had an early birthday celebration with some friends. I promised Letty we could have a friend party this year and we needed to do it before people moved away, including ourselves.

Capital Reef

We enjoyed a great three day camping trip to Capital Reef National Park. It was a little chilly but the scenery was beautiful and the company great. We went on a few hikes and T-man and I each took turns going on a day long rappelling hike. This was my first time rappelling and it was scary, I'm not sure I think it's fun yet. The kids had a great time and it was fun to get outside for a while. We went camping with T's Uncle and Aunt and cousins. Uncle D is an expert at rappelling and we enjoyed a trail that he blazed himself several years before. Thanks everyone for a great trip.

Mexico!

We enjoyed a fantastic trip to Puerto Vallarta for graduation. The weather was perfect, and a lovely escape from chilly Utah weather. We mostly laid by the pool/ocean and read while soaking up the sun. We enjoyed visiting downtown and a small fishing village. We also went on an excursion to Las Caletas, a remote beach only accessible by boat. Unfortunately the motion mixed with morning sickness didn't make for an enjoyable ride but the Island was fun. We enjoyed snorkeling, kayaking, a nature hike and a nice lunch. We also got to hold a monkey and a parrot! It was a great trip!

Oh Happy Day!!

Congratulation T-man! We are so proud of you and so happy to be graduating too. We were happy to celebrate with my mom, T's parents, sisters E and her kids, J, and Aunt Kat. Thanks everyone for coming and celebrating T's accomplishment.

Later that evening Letty read this poem.

Graduation 2010

Good job dad, its been a long road
And we’ve all done our best to help shoulder the load.

You’ve done lots of stuff, you've gone out of your way
In things like SVC or OBSA.

I also heard you won the BPC show,
What all this means I really don’t know.

So, that’s great and all, but what really is cool
Is what will come now that you’re all done with school-

Capitol Reef, Lake Powell, and time with grandmas
And lest I forget, more time with you pa!

All these trips get me quite pumped,
But there’s one last thing that has the rest trumped.

After we move to live close to New York
To our house for a visit, will come a stork.

So before the year’s end, Gracie will leave her crib
To make way for the newest wee Lovell sib.

Goings On

Wow, what happened to the rest of March? It's been a busy month. Here are some of our happenings-

Letty and Gracie with Cosmo while waiting for mommy to cross the finish line.

S and her running buddies after the 10K run.

Fire station field trip. Yeah for firefighters.

The great family girl party in DC hanging out with the health care bill protesters. This was such an awesome trip!

Having more fun in DC

Go Letty! Go Letty! (Letty's soccer team, she's #10 ready to kick the ball. We kept cheering her on all game, because if we didn't she'd leave the field to come and tell us to cheer.)

Run Letty, Run!

Easter bunny visit at the MBASA Easter Egg Hunt. Easter eggs hunts indoors are a bit chaotic.

Marriott School fast break. Letty with her friend. They could barely reach each other with their jousting poles.

Girl nail painting party while Grandpa and T-man are at Priesthood session.

A super Lego tower using ALL of our Lego's (hold your breath).

Good morning snow, happy Easter! Grandma and Grandpa decided we needed a snow Easter Bunny, so cute! By the afternoon poor bunny was only about 2 feet tall. It was fun while it lasted.

T-man's team won the BYU BPC(Business Plan Competition). T-man was a bit surprised by this. We are all very proud of them, they have worked really hard. In case you don't know their plan is a treatment for Restless Leg Syndrome using infrared lights. Their business name is TranquilMed. They have created a working prototype, have done and are doing research, and have spent countless hours together working on this business (more to come). Don't get too excited the money has to go into a business account, plus half of it is in services (just thought I'd clear that up).
